Talk Nicely About Us Or We’ll Quit!

May 28, 2008

Iran’s new parliament speaker Ali Larijani warned Wednesday that Teheran could impose new limits on its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog after a critical report from the agency.

Larijani, formerly the country’s top nuclear negotiator, was overwhelmingly elected as parliament speaker Wednesday. Moments later, he told parliament that a new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency was “deplorable.”

The unusually strongly worded report issued Monday said Iran may be withholding information needed to establish whether it tried to make nuclear weapons.

“We recommend them not to clandestinely keep passing Iran’s nuclear dossier between the IAEA and 5-plus-1 group. This parliament won’t allow such deception,” Larijani told an open session of parliament broadcast live on state-run radio.

He was referring to IAEA reports and permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany. The council has imposed three sets of sanctions against Iran for its refusal to halt enriching uranium – a process that can be used to generate electricity or nuclear arms.

Should this behavior continue, the parliament…will set new limits on cooperation with the IAEA,” Larijani said.

Yep, even though Ahamadinejad’s boy lost a recent election to this guy, it looks like we’re not getting a better guy to deal with. This is VERY telling though about how forthright Iran is being about their nuclear program.

The IAEA, which just about everyone on the “they’re making it all up about Iran” camp have put their faith in, have said that Iran is not answering questions and being evasive. I’m paraphrasing of course. :) Iran is now saying that if the IAEA isn’t going to talk nicely about it’s nuclear program, they’ll stop cooperating with them. Doesn’t sound like their nuclear program is for “peaceful purposes” does it?

Oh do tell me Keith Olbermann, how is it that “they are making it all up about Iran” now? Please bless me and my readers with your vast knowledge of Iranian affairs and explain to us how them saying they won’t cooperate with the IAEA if they don’t report positive news is a good thing?

God, I love being right.

The Day Off

May 27, 2008

All,

I have taken the day off today since I haven’t had one in a while where I didn’t have to do anything. :) I will probably be posting later on tonight just because I have that mental issue, (some of my readers are thinking “your ONLY mental issue?”) so I might post anyways. Just thought I’d let you all know before I went off doing other things. :)

We’re Bombing Mosques Now

May 26, 2008

Iran made an official protest to the United States, via a Swiss intermediary, on Wednesday about what Tehran says is Washington’s support for a group blamed for bombing an Iranian mosque, a news agency reported.

The charge d’affaires of the Swiss embassy, which handles U.S. interests in Iran, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and handed “evidence and documents” supporting Iran’s allegations, the students news agency ISNA said.

Iran has said the United States, Britain and Israel were involved in the explosion in a mosque in the southern city of Shiraz in April that killed 14 people and wounded 200.

“Iran’s strong protest was conveyed to (the charge d’affaires) about the free-ranging activities of a terrorist and anti-revolutionary group in America,” ISNA said, quoting a senior Foreign Ministry official. It did not name the group.

“In this meeting, part of the evidence and documents related to the terrorist activities of this group was handed over to the Swiss charge d’affaires in order to present to American officials in charge,” it added.

Washington was asked “to hand over the agents and leaders (of the group) … to Iran for justice to be done,” ISNA added.

Ok, first off, why not name the group? That’s the first “red flag” of bullshit that anyone in their right mind would think. If they are a group that’s supported by the United States, it would make perfect sense to publicly name them so that Iran could have some propaganda to use against us. The fact that they didn’t speaks volumes about the truthfullness of this accusation.

Secondly, and this is more important, say we are supporting such a group of people, for the sake of the argument, who bombed a mosque and Iran wants us to hand them over. Where’s our incentive to do so? Iran has supported Hezbollah and insurgent groups in Iraq that have murdered US soldiers. If Iran thinks we’d hand over people who’re trying to undermine them, they must be out of their fucking minds.

Every time a bomb goes off in Iraq, a bomb should go off in Iran. Tit for tat. Sooner or later, Iran will catch a clue that we’re not going to sit idly by while our guys get blown up. We will retaliate. Maybe not publicly, but we will retaliate.

As a side note, I’d LOVE to see their “evidence” that they have that not only the US, but Britain and Israel are also involved in bombing of a mosque. I mean, it makes perfect sense for all three nations to get together to bomb a house of worship.

Does their PR guy actually read their line of bullshit, or does he read it off the cuff and think “no one’s going to buy this”. Because truthfully, out of all the accusations that have come out of Iran, how many of them actually sound plausible? Really? Iran is having massive problems because of it’s own doing. We tried to play nice, and then they decided to fuck with us. So, we take appropriate measures with world banks and such, and remind them the price for doing business in Iran, and then they wonder why their economy is in the toilet, unemployment is in double digits, and inflation is going past 15%.

Talk about the “great Satan” all you want, but we are the #1 economy, military, and industrial power in the world, and when we want to flex our muscle, we will. And we’ll make your lives hell in doing so.

Obama Backtracks

May 26, 2008

Democrat Barack Obama underscored his willingness to talk to leaders of countries like Iran that are considered U.S. adversaries but said on Monday that does not necessarily mean an audience with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Obama, the Democratic Party front-runner vying to face Republican Sen. John McCain in the November race for the White House, has said he was willing to meet with leaders of countries such as Iran, Syria, Cuba and Venezuela without preconditions.

McCain has criticized that view, saying that sitting down with someone like Ahmadinejad would give the Iranian president a spotlight and send the wrong signal to U.S. allies such as Israel.

Iran does not recognize Israel’s existence and Ahmadinejad has called the country a “stinking corpse.”

Obama, an Illinois senator, said Iranian presidential elections in 2009 would be a factor in the timing of any meetings, as would considerations of who wields the power.

There’s no reason why we would necessarily meet with Ahmadinejad before we know that he was actually in power. He’s not the most powerful person in Iran,” Obama told reporters while campaigning in New Mexico.

What happened to “meeting without preconditions”? What about “talking with our friends and talking with our enemies”? Something has changed here.

Just a little while ago in this video, Obama specifically implies that he would meet with Ahmadinejad:

Even better, is that during a debate, a question is asked if Obama would meet with leaders of various countries, INCLUDING IRAN WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF HIS PRESIDENCY, and Obama said “I would”.

That’s some major backtracking. Because during the first year of Obama’s administration, Ahamadinejad would still be the leader of Iran. Then, if Obama is saying that he’s not sure who’d be in power at the time, that’s splitting hairs and trying to backtrack.

Your Messiah is starting to crumble Democrats.

Iran Hiding Nuclear Secrets From UN

May 26, 2008

Oh how I love to be proven right. I wish it were on something insignificant like when it was going to rain and such, but now I’ve been proven to be right about Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran’s alleged research into nuclear warheads remains a matter of serious concern and Tehran should provide more information on its missile-related activities, the U.N. nuclear watchdog said on Monday.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also said, in its latest report on Iran, that Tehran was holding back information on high-explosives testing relating to its nuclear program.

This is according to the UN’s nuclear group, the IAEA, NOT according to the US or any other intelligence agencies. So, those of you out there who keep saying that it’s all being “made up about Iran”, (Keith Olbermann, I’m looking at you), it simply IS NOT TRUE. Iran IS hiding something.

Case in point:

The IAEA said it asked Iran in April to provide access to locations related to the manufacture of uranium centrifuges, research and development of uranium enrichment, and uranium mining and milling as a transparency measure.

“To date, Iran has not agreed to the agency’s request,” the report said.

Iran could EASILY answer the concerns of the international community, but it choses not to because it will bring up even MORE questions about their activities.

The IAEA has been pressing Tehran for answers to Western intelligence allegations that Iran has covertly studied how to design atomic bombs. Iran has dismissed the intelligence as baseless, forged or irrelevant.

Iran’s research into “high explosives testing and the missile re-entry vehicle project remained a matter of serious concern”, said the report, which will be passed on to the United Nations Security Council.

“Substantive explanations are required from Iran to support its statements on the alleged studies and on other information with a possible military dimension,” the agency said, though it added that it had not detected any actual use of nuclear material in connection with the alleged studies.

“We have not got substantive answers and we could have gotten those earlier,” a senior U.N. official said.

The next step is up to Tehran and to the IAEA board of governors, which meets next week in Vienna, he said. “They (Iran) know what we need, everything is listed here that we need, the questions are clear…we need answers.

The IAEA is finally starting to press Iran about it’s nuclear intentions, contrary to it’s toothless reputation. But sooner or later, Iran is going to have to cave. Even with China and Russia backing it for obviously self centered reasons, even Stevie Wonder can see that Iran is after nuclear weapons.

But of course, here comes the bullshit spin from Iran:

Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran’s ambassador to the agency, said the IAEA report showed that Tehran’s nuclear program was peaceful, Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency reported.

The report “shows Iran’s entire nuclear activities are peaceful,” Fars quoted him as saying. “Once more it has been explicitly underlined that there has been absolutely no evidence regarding the diversion of Iran’s nuclear activities or materials toward military purposes,” he said.

Anyone believe this line of bullshit except idiots like Keith Olbermann?

Anyone care to explain to me how this report of Iran hiding and dodging questions shows that they have a purely peaceful nuclear program?

It’s all a line of shit from Iran because they have gotten emboldened our non response to their attacks on our soldiers in Iraq. They have seen that they can get away with attacking our guys and we’ll do nothing about it. Many people are looking at Iran and thinking it’s all a ruse from the Bush administration, but no one other then a select few, is actually LOOKING at the evidence.

If this is ever an “I told you so” moment, this is it. The NIE report has been criticized for being wrong in the past and ignored when it talked about Iran’s nuclear program. But once it said that they stopped in 2003, everyone touted it as gospel. Why can’t the NIE be wrong in this instance? Because people’s minds are already made up and they’ll pick and choose the evidence that they want to see.

Gregory Schulte, the U.S. envoy to the IAEA, said Iran was blocking the IAEA’s efforts to investigate indications that it had engaged in studies, engineering work, and procurement relevant to building nuclear weapons.

“The report shows in great detail how much Iran needs to explain, and how little it has,” he said.

“Altogether this report is a clear vote that Iran could have done more, but that it didn’t,” said a European diplomat.

The report said Iran had not given the IAEA all the necessary information or access to documents and individuals.

“The agency is of the view that Iran may have additional information, in particular on high explosives testing and missile-related activities, which could shed more light on the nature of these alleged studies and which Iran should share with the agency,” the report said.

Unless Iran has a GREAT explanation about all of these unanswered questions, including questions about nuclear contamination at Tehran University and documents found that only pertain to nuclear weapons, Iran is going to have a nasty surprise waiting for them. China and Russia can’t ignore the evidence for long.

Indiana Jones And The New Cold War

May 24, 2008

Members of Russia’s Communist Party are calling for a nationwide boycott of the new Indiana Jones movie, saying it aims to undermine communist ideology and distort history.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” stars Harrison Ford as an archaeologist competing in 1957 with an evil KGB agent, played by Cate Blanchett, to find a skull endowed with mystic powers.

It hit Russian screens Thursday.

Communist Party members in St. Petersburg said on a web site this week that the Soviet Union in 1957 “did not send terrorists to the States,” but launched a satellite, “which evoked the admiration of the whole world.”

Moscow Communist lawmaker Andrei Andreyev said Saturday “it is very disturbing if talented directors want to provoke a new Cold War.”

First off, I’m QUITE certain that if I took a look around, I’d find plenty of anti-American movies being made in Russia. But as a side note guys, it’s just a fucking movie. Grow up.

Liberal Celebrity Gives Opinion On War In Iraq!

May 24, 2008

Surely this is front page news! I mean, if any other actor has anything to say about world events that’s relevant, we should be listening to them because their opinion is much greater then yours and mine simply because they are better then us!

Oscar-winner Jessica Lange bashed the Bush administration and denounced the war in Iraq during a commencement address at Sarah Lawrence College.

The star of “Tootsie” and “Blue Sky” was applauded by students Friday at the small liberal arts college after comparing the conflict with the Vietnam War. She said the graduates have “a heavy burden” to chart a new path for the country.

Wow, liberal arts college eh? Why am I not surprised? I won’t bother going into her arguments simply because I’ve denounced them or proven them wrong over time.

Next up, let’s ask Screech from Saved By The Bell what he thinks of our international aid and it’s effects on the economy!

Keep The Dead Terrorist Leaders Coming!

May 24, 2008

The leader of Colombia’s largest leftist rebel group is dead, a spokesman for the nation’s defense ministry said Saturday.

art.marulanda.gi.jpg

Pedro Antonio Marin, known as Manuel Marulanda Vilez and nicknamed Tirofijo, is believed to have died of a heart attack, ministry spokesman Juan Manuel Santos said.

“He must be in hell,” Santos told a reporter from Semana magazine.

Marulanda, who was believed to be in his late 70s, has led the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, for decades.

I’m all for dead terrorist leaders, but a heart attack? Come on guys, let’s see if we can step it up a notch here eh?

Although I disapprove of these kinds of tactics:

He also said he’s working on a way to grant former rebels what he called “conditional freedom” — suggesting that they’d receive some form of amnesty for criminal acts.

You don’t give amnesty to terrorist group members in exchange for cash. Doing so is appeasement and only encourages such behavior from others. There’s only two ways to deal with terrorists; capture or kill them.

Why McCain Won’t Win

May 23, 2008

You know, with as much as I like John McCain, it’s stupid bullshit like this that will cost him the election:

Who gives a shit if Ellen Degeneres or any other gay person gets married? He comes across looking like a complete douche bag who’s going to try to trample on the rights of gay people.

We’re the party of lesser government. We’re the party of not interfering with people’s lives. Shit like this will cost us votes and will only alienate people. If you think marriage should be between a man and a woman, fine, but don’t tell others that they can’t marry someone that they love.

Idiot.
